Literature Text

Today was a pretty good day at school despite Kyo completely avoiding Kai. Kai has been trying to apologize for whatever it was that made Kyo upset but Kyo just won't let him.

It was lunch break and Kyo was sitting on the roof staring at the clouds. His peaceful time was cut short when Kai arrived.

"What do you want?" Kyo asked him, not bothering to turn his head to look at the other boy.

"I want to say I'm sorry for whatever I did yesterday to upset you" Kai replied. Kyo stood up, putting his hands in his pockets and walked past Kai, leaving him alone on the roof.

(Short time skip)

School ended and Kyo was making his way home, his head down low. After a while someone called out to him.

"Kyo, wait!"

The black haired teen stopped walking allowing Kai to catch up. "Kyo, please accept my apology" the brunette begged, "I consider you a really close friend so please forgive me"

Kyo started at Kai for a moment and spoke. "I forgive you"

Kai smiled at him. "You do, really?"

"Yeah but I still want you to leave me alone" Kyo said walking away. Kai watched Kyo leave sadly, he wanted to cry but didn't.

Kai has been following Kyo around for a long time and Kyo would be angry at first but he would learn how to deal with it.

Even though Kai would spend every day with Kyo he would do whatever he could to make the other boy smile. Sometimes he could get a faint smile or he would fail.

And there were times when Kai could see past Kyo's mean personality, like how Kyo would protect him from bullies.

The brunette fell in love with the black haired teen, it was just too hard for him to tell him his feelings but once he gets the chance, he's going to tell Kyo how he feels.

And thought today could be the day.

(Kyo's pov)

I finally got back home, glad that Kai didn't follow me, he's so annoying. The only reason I chose to forgive him is because he would've begged me over and over to forgive him if I didn't.

But like I've thought to myself before, his personality is very familiar.

I walk to my room and grab my picture, staring at the smiling young boy.

As I looked at the boy in the picture I thought about Kai for some reason and that's when I remembered why his personality is so familiar to me.

"He's just like..."

(Kai's pov)

I walked up to Kyo's front door, nervous about ringing the door bell. I know he said to leave him alone even though he forgives me, it's just that... I like being around him.

I rung the doorbell and after a while Kyo soon answered the door.

"Um.. hey, Kyo" I said, giving him a light smile.

"Why are you here?" He asked.

"I just wanted to hang out with you, that's all" I told him, a slight blush on my cheeks, the real reason I'm at his house is because I want to tell him how I feel.

"I told you to leave me alone"

"Please, Kyo. We can go to the park and then I'll leave you alone, I promise" I begged him.

"Fine" he said and came outside, I smiled and we went to the park.

(Narrative)

When Kyo and Kai arrived at the park, the sky got cloudy, which sucked because Kai was gonna have to make his confession quick.

Before Kai told Kyo how he felt he decided to set the mood and start a good conversation, though he did most of the talking, Kyo was just staring at a small family.

The brunette noticed and decided to learn more about Kyo since when he thinks about it, he's never seen Kyo's family. Even though he's only been to his house twice.

"Hey, Kyo. What's your family like?" He asked. Kyo didn't respond so Kai asked him again. "Kyo-"

Kai stopped mid sentence once Kyo suddenly stood up from the bench and walked away.

"Kyo, wait!" Kai called out.

"Don't follow me" Kyo said coldly, leaving Kai alone at the park. Kai wanted to cry, he was supposed to tell Kyo how he felt but he just left him behind.

Kai left the park and it started to rain, he got an umbrella from the store and started walking, as he walked he went by the cemetery and saw someone sitting in the rain.

(Kai's pov)

I walked over to the person sitting on the ground and I was surprised to see that it was Kyo! He was sitting right in front of a tomb stone, his head down low, it was probably just the rain but it seemed like he was crying.

I put the umbrella over his head and he didn't move a muscle. I read the name on the stone and it said: R.I.P Rio.

"Who's Rio? Was she a close friend?" I asked Kyo softly.

"No..." Kyo replied, "she's my little sister..."

(Narrative)

Kai was shocked to hear Kyo's reply, his little sister had died?

"What about your parents?" Kai asked.

"My parents are dead too" Kyo cried, bringing his hands up to cover his face.

Kai watched Kyo as he cried, he felt so bad for him, he wanted to hug him but he didn't think that would help out.

"H-how did they die...?" He asked.

"My parents died because they got sick a few years after my sister was born. After their death me and my sister moved here and soon she got sick" Kyo told him, "there was nothing I could do to help her, I could only watch her die right in front of me"

Hearing Kyo's story had made Kai feel so sorry for him, he never thought Kyo had such a sad life.

He wanted to hug Kyo and make him feel happy but Kyo lost his entire family, there's no way they could be replaced but Kai wondered if he could try to make Kyo smile.

Kai didn't like seeing Kyo this way, he didn't deserve to feel like this.

Kai's emotions began to go out of control, he dropped the umbrella he was holding and grabbed Kyo by his shoulders.

He then turned Kyo to face him and kissed him softly.
